Andrea and Joel’s Love Story
Joel Rusher was born in Des Moines, Iowa and grew up in Westport Connecticut. He graduated college from Northeastern Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Science.
He currently works for Sunspire Health as the Vice President for Clinical Outreach. Joel oversees the outreach team in helping place people in treatment who are struggling with alcohol and drug related issues. He loves what he does and brings joy to everyone he meets with his charismatic and warm nature.
Andrea Rusher was born and raised in Wellington, Florida. She is a true native to Florida and cherishes her home state. She graduated college with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is a licensed clinician in the state of Florida. Andrea is both a Therapist and has her own practice as well as a Clinical Director who oversees the clinical and operation side of an outpatient program for people seeking treatment with alcohol and drug related issues. Andrea whole-heartedly believes that she is serving one of her life missions in her career, by helping others seek peace and comfort in their lives.
Andrea and Joel met through a mutual friend in their lives and carried on a long distance relationship for the first year and a half. They both knew instantaneously after meeting that they were each other’s soul mate. Joel would say, “It was love after first laugh,” as Andrea has a unique contagious laugh that brings joy to people around her. Andrea would say, “It was love at first gaze,” as Joel has the most piercing eyes that look straight to Andrea’s soul. Joel proposed to Andrea on one of her favorite beaches in Florida and where they had their first kiss on their one year anniversary of being a couple. They never let distance detour their love for one another and they eventually moved in together in the summer of 2015.
In the spring of 2015, they both attended a fundraiser to help women suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. They bought raffle tickets to help raise money for the cause. Little did they know they would be the first ticket called and chose the grand price gift… a trip to Hawaii! They knew instantly that they would use this trip for their wedding and honeymoon to make their dreams come true!
The wedding and honeymoon was something out of a fairytale! They contacted Sweet Hawaii Wedding via phone to help them plan their special day. They knew instantly that they chose wisely, as Jacqueline and Coco have the warmest souls and were very professional and courteous through the entire process. They planned every detail so that Andrea and Joel could prepare for their arrival stress free. Once they arrived in Hawaii, they met Jacqueline and Coco at their homes and fell in love with them even more! Ironically enough, they have a waterfall in their back yard that Andrea always dreamed of jumping in one! On their special day, Jacqueline and Coco kindly allowed them to jump in their waterfall for photos to help Andrea’s dream come true! The ceremony at Waimanalo Beach was out of a dream; every detail was planned with love! The setting, the energy, the photography and everything else in between couldn’t have been more perfect!
Andrea and Joel are forever grateful for Sweet Hawaii Wedding and will have a special place in their hearts for Jacqueline and Coco always!
